Note From Burt M.,
Baltimore, MD, A CorrectPhoto & iCorrect Plug-in
User (unedited)
"I am very happy with
iCorrect OneClick as a plug-in for Elements. I
was a little concerned, after I purchased the Mac
Book, when I learned that
CorrectPhoto was for Windows only. I had looked
for some simple, yet effective, software for quite
some time just to correct my colors and do some
cropping. I must admit that price was also a
concern. I just happened on your website during my
search and was impressed with the results you
showed, the simplicity and the price point.
I could not find any negatives about your company
so I ordered the
CorrectPhoto and
ImageTitler. I really do not like to "edit" my
photos. I work hard to get the shot I want. If the
situation allows I will change angles, bracket
exposures and even return (in the case of static
subjects) at another time to take advantage of
changing light. I want to look at my results and
remember the moments. I see a lot of photos that
have been worked over so much that, while they may
appeal to the eye, they probably do not represent
what the eye saw at the moment of shutter actuation.
I guess that is for people who "make" photos as
opposed to those who "take" photos. However,
sometimes my trusty D40 needs a little help.
Sometimes just to be saved from my mistakes. CorrectPhoto
allows me to bring out the "real" color in my
images. Now I can do the same with iCorrect
OneClick. I was lucky enough to have
Elements. I don't know when I would have ever
gotten around to trying it had it not been for the
fact that iCorrect only works in the filters of
Elements and is not a stand-alone. I have been
working on the photos I took during our trip to St
Louis this month and boy am I glad I had your
software. Seems I came out of the Missouri History
Museum with my white balance still set on tungsten.
I took many photos before realizing my mistake. I
really could not see much color in my camera screen
because of the strong sunshine. It was while I was
looking at photos on the Metro that I saw all the
blue tint. I thought they were wasted shots until I
just did the one-click in iCorrect. I did not
realize your software would make such dramatic
corrections in white balance. Thanks for that.
Well, I suppose it's finally
happened. My wife says I'm a fan-boy(?) Not sure
how to take that. I suppose I should simply be
happy that after being married to me for 42 years
she still thinks of me as her boy of ANY sort. I
do admit I am a fan of your products. For
anyone with a Mac I can only say that it is worth
the added purchase of Elements in order to use the
iCorrect. Perhaps I will play around with Elements
more as time goes on. Someone considering iCorrect
would do well to look for Elements 6 or 7 that may
still be around. Be alert for anyone selling
earlier versions of Elements at a cheap price if the
software is labeled OEM. That means it probably
came off a school computer, or some other preload,
and may be prone to problems. Adobe may still have
their $20 rebate going on and sometimes Amazon has
Elements 8 (the new version I have) on sale. I
caught your holiday sale on iCorrect but even
without that I would still say $49 is a bargain for
what this software does. No brain drain required.
I would rather spend the energy, and time, taking
the photos and making prints for the family,
grandkids, charity auctions, etc. It is a great
adjunct to this late-life hobby I have found and
enjoy so much. I know you sell a stand-alone
product for Mac but I'm cheap and, lucky me, I had
Elements already. If someone did not need all that
firepower in your
ProApp they could still catch a sale on Elements
(maybe even with a rebate), add iCorrect OneClick
and put together the package for under $120. The
kids caught a one day sale a Amazon on my Elements
for $60 and Adobe ran a $20 rebate. I spend a lot
of time on this laptop...shopping around. I do a
lot of the family vacation planning, putting
packages together, etc. There is not a day that I
don't scan the various photo software and reviews of
same while I am on the laptop. I just have not seen
anything to compare with your software. I'm sure a
Ken Rockwell type (just found his interesting
website) can get great results laboring over CS5,
etc., but I just don't see the difference in final
color that tells me I should spend 20 minutes per
photo working on layers, etc., when all I have to do
is click on a neutral color with your software. Did
I mention I'm lazy as well as cheap?"
